Single Cell Discoveries is a rapidly growing biotechnology company seeking an HR Manager to oversee and support daily human resources operations. This role will play a key part in shaping our people strategy, fostering a positive workplace culture, and supporting the company’s continued growth.

Single Cell Discoveries is a venture-backed startup company that provides single-cells sequencing services to an international client base across academia & industry. With a highly enthusiastic and dedicated team, we help scientists worldwide solve a wide range of biological problems using cutting edge technology and data science. To fuel our services, we have an active R&D program to develop new methods and help bring single-cell technology to the clinic.

Responsibilities

• Recruitment & Onboarding – Lead the full hiring process and ensure new joiners feel welcome from day one.

• Employee Relations – Be the go-to person for HR support, advice, and everyday employee matters.

• HR Administration – Keep employee records, contracts, and HR data organised and up to date.

• Payroll & Benefits – Liaise with payroll and manage employee benefits smoothly and on time.

• Policy & Compliance – Ensure HR policies are clear, current, and compliant with local labor laws.

• Performance & Development – Support performance reviews and help employees grow in their roles.

• Culture & Engagement – Contribute to a positive team culture through engagement and wellbeing initiatives.

About you

• You’re an HR generalist who likes variety and ownership.

• You have solid HR knowledge and know your way around employment basics.

• You’re organised, hands-on, and detail-focused.

• You work independently and know when to ask or escalate.

• You’re approachable, discreet, and people trust you.

• You communicate clearly and professionally.

• You care about people and creating a positive work environment.

• HR certification is a bonus, not a must.

• Fluent in English (written and spoken), Dutch is a big plus.
